Carl’s Jr. Hardee’s Southwest Patty Melt – Commercial and Review
I’m no stranger to Carl’s Jr and I really enjoy their burgers, including the Big Carl and especially the Six Dollar Burgers. So the moment I saw that coupon for the Carl’s Jr Southwest Patty Melt I knew I had to have one. The Southwest patty melt is available in single, double and six dollar versions.
The Southwest Patty Melt Six Dollar Burger starts with a charbroiled beef patty. On top of that they add sliced jalapeños, some grilled onions, pepper-Jack cheese and spicy delicious Santa Fe sauce, all that gets stuffed between two slices of grilled sourdough bread.
I went with the six dollar version and that was all I ordered, I wanted to focus my taste buds on just this. It comes with the same patty as the typical six dollar burger, that means it is both good and plentiful. I find this patty does taste better than the standard burgers served there. The first thing you will notice when picking this burger up is the heft of it, this is no typical patty melt.
“This is one BIG patty melt”
The moment I bit into it I knew I liked it. The taste of the sourdough bread, cheese, onions, beef and jalapeños overwhelm your senses for a moment. Wow, that is a good burger. In a way that might be a problem. The patty melt is filled with cheese, jalapeños and sauce, really full. so it can get sloppy, but it tastes so good.
”I’m drooling just writing this!”
Back to the problem, if you can call it that, it tastes more like a burger than a Patty Melt. Is that a bad thing? I don’t think so. It’s spicy, juicy, big and even a good deal coming in at under five bucks. Do I recommend this? Absolutely, unless you don’t like anything spicy or particularly goopy. Perhaps it needs more grilled onions.
Healthwise it doesn’t fare great, but is also not the worst thing on the menu. It comes in at 870 calories for the Six Dollar Burger version.
Cost is $4.89 with out any promotions.
This burger won’t be here very long, so I urge you to give it a try. Till you do, check out their new commercial with Kate Upton and don’t forget the coupon.
