This Carl’s Jr is located on the North Eastern side of Hawthorne and PCH. It has been here since I have lived in Torrance. I frequent it often and I think it is a great place to come. The staff is always friendly and they do a great job with the food.
Carl’s Jr began in 1941 when Carl N. Karcher and his wife, Margaret borrowed $311 on their Plymouth automobile, added $15 in savings and purchased a hot dog cart. Soon they had 4 and with in 5 years they opened their Carl’s Drive-In Barbeque in Anaheim California, this was such a hit they began opening other locations and changed the name to Carl’s Jr. Today they have 1,262 locations. CKE Restaurants, Inc. is the parent company of the Carl’s Jr., Hardee’s, Green Burrito, and Red Burrito restaurant chains. Carl’s Jr’s closest competitor would be Wendy’s and in-N-out burgers
Carl’s Jr serves Burgers and Chicken sandwiches as well as various other sandwiches, including salads and their new Turkey Burgers. They have a breakfast menu and many of the restaurants also have a Green Burrito attached. Most have 24 hour drive through.

The new Santa Fe Turkey Burger is what I had today for lunch along with a ground beef taco. The Turkey Burger comes with Charbroiled Turkey Burger, Pepperjack Cheese, Green Chili, Lettuce, Tomato and Carl’s Santa Fe Sauce. This sauce is great and I would buy it by the bottle. It comes in under 500 calories, but tastes like 1000. The green chili and the Santa Fe sauce will leave your mouth watering for more. It has a wheat bun which adds some additional texture and makes it just a little more healthy. Regular buns will spike your sugars more.
What can I say, this is a great sandwich and it is a very healthy alternative to your typical burgers, with out sacrificing flavor. This burger is a great way to eat healthier and still have a ton of flavor and I’m all for that.
